Problem Kids Album Release Event

Join Problem Kids as they celebrate the release of their new album entitled "Caribbe an Slang" with a FREE concert at Wynwood Yard on Saturday, 1/28. DJ Robin Louis Garcia will rock the decks all night long.

As the title implies, the album showcases the band’s trademark “island hip-hop” sound, which blends throwback hip-hop and
funk with their new-school take on traditional Latin and reggae rhythms.

“This is the sound of Miami and young America right now,”
declares MC Tish, a founding member and co-frontman for
the Problem Kids. “It’s a mash-up of cultures and sounds. No
matter your musical taste or heritage, this album has
something for everyone.”

That all-inclusive spirit has been central to the Problem Kids’
success in captivating audiences with fun-loving music, while
the group’s lyrical content at times tackles more poignant
topics related to love, hope and oppression. An example is the
band’s’ track, “ Fidel Pol Favol ”, a musical condemnation
to the now-deceased Cuban dictator with explicit lyrics that recount the miserable state of the island and its hungry people in both a satirical yet moving way. The song has become a crowd favorite at Miami shows.

“We dedicate this album to those artists around the world -especially those in the Caribbean and South America - who because of oppressive governments can’t express themselves
freely,” says Problem Kids’ saxophonist Bert Casanova, himself born in Cuba. “We know how lucky we are to play our instruments and speak our minds as freely as we want without the prospect of jail time entering our minds.”

"Caribbean Slang" will be available on all major online retailers and streaming services as of 1/24/17. (Available for pre-order on iTunes NOW!) It is the group’s second full-length LP following 2012’s Poetry in Motion.
