We hope you had a great summer. We are thrilled to resume our EALM activities this fall!

What’s happening this month? It’s all about you, our members, Miami, great music and advocacy. We are bringing back speed networking with a happy hour at The Wynwood Yard. Expect drink specials, fun and connection, followed by a special "block party" and rally program by the South Florida chapter of the Recording Academy (aka the GRAMMYs) starting at 6:30pm. They are celebrating a big win for the modern media bill's passing Congress. Come for the networking, stay for the music!

The idea of this fun, lively event is not to rack up business cards, but to get to know and explore our network--the incredible leaders working in the arts in Miami. To go beyond the intros and small talk, we are planning a few rounds that get us into finding genuine points of intersection and potential seeds for innovation together. All the while, we aim to have fun and enjoy each other in the process. All are welcome and we appreciate your help in spreading the word. Street parking is available.

Q: It's a happy hour event. What's the plan?

A: EALM is hosting this event during happy hour (4-8pm). Drink specials include $6 punch and $8 cocktails. We will be in the area just west of the bar. You are welcome to purchase food or drink, and you're welcome to stay and continue the conversation and company after the event ends at the GRAMMY-organized rally with guest speakers and music on the mainstage.

Q: What're the deets for the post-EALM GRAMMY event?

A: The GRAMMY event is called District Advocate: Florida Rally.
The Recording Academy Florida Chapter is hosting a rally to create awareness and educate members about advocacy issues that will be a priority for District Advocate. This event will be open to the local community with live performances, guest speakers, and opportunities to share support via social media. Performers: Teedra Moses, Suenalo, Brika, Yoli Mayor, Elsten Torres, Nicole Henry, Dama Vicke, SunGhosts, Mish Elle, DJ Musicat; Guest speakers: Jon Secada, Manu Manzo, Rico Love, Marcella Araica, Julio Bague, Jorge Mejia, Michael Lewan, Doug Emery.

Q: Who is EALM? What's the speed networking event about?

A: Emerging Arts Leaders of Miami meets monthly. The regular meetups feature a mix of speakers, leadership conversations, and open dialogue on pressing topics relevant to the local arts administration & entertainment community. The goal is to connect, learn, and have fun.

Stay tuned: EALM Programs currently being planned for November and January include a small-scale dinner to spark new relationships and learning with senior arts managers and a seminar on grant writing. Details to come. If you're interested in attending a dinner, please hit us up at ealmiami@gmail.com.

If there’s a topic of interest to you that you would like EALM to consider for its programming, please let us know! Shout out to ealmiami@gmail.com.
